The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening stating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in contact with the league office.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and it is known she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
